Keeping track of changes during a build

My paper notes are getting scattered between parts boxes. How do you keep measurements, part numbers, and changes organized as a project grows?

One page per assembly works well for me. I date each change and keep the earlier measurements visible instead of erasing them.

I keep a separate list for decisions that are still provisional. It stops an early mock-up dimension from looking like a final specification.

The build log here is useful for the overview, with detailed measurements kept in the shop notebook.
